How To Avoid Online Scum

With the developing technology making a business transaction online has become as safe as purchasing by visiting a physical store but you should still be aware of people who may want to use the opportunity to rob you. The truth of the matter is that most of us have lost substantial amounts of money while shopping online and we just wished we were careful enough. Here are some of the tips I use and they have worked for me.

1.       Protect your financial details

·         Do not give your pin, password or bank account number.

·         Avoid using hotspots or public Wi-Fi when buying online. This is because the network is not private and information your information may be shared.

·         Using debit cards is with many risks, you can use a credit card or any other payment service that is secure instead.

·         Check the privacy policy and the return policy of the firm.

·         Do not ship your products before receiving payment if you are selling.

·         Always remember to take note of the company details such as telephone number, physical address and any details before making a purchase.

·         Look for reviews online and only transact with brands that have a good reputation.

·         Do not purchase from insecure sites. the site should have ‘https’ which means Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure. This indicates that the company has been checked to ensure that it is what it claims to be. You should also ensure that the payment process is secure by confirming there is a yellow padlock right in front of the link.

2.       Identifying and dealing with online scammers

How do you know you are a victim of internet fraud? I this is the question in your mind here are the tips I believe will be of much help.

·         If you bought an item online and it is taking too long to arrive.

·         If the quality of the product you are supplied is not what you agreed upon with the supplier.

·         If the buyer is taking too long to pay for the product you sold online.

·         If you are losing small amounts of money regularly.

·         If you are unable to withdraw money from your user dashboard after being paid for doing some tasks online.

·         When the deal involves getting easy money

When you find out that you are a victim of fraud, contact the company in question and see if they can help. You Can also ask the credit card company to investigate if you used a credit card as your mode of payment or check if your service website is covered with a fraud protection scheme.

Good luck with your online transactions. You can also read about legitimate online working organizations that pay here.
